Soap Box Derby

The Soap Box Derby has been held since 1967 and is an annual favorite during Homecoming. Students build homemade cars and race them against each other.

Cars are launched from a large ramp at the top of a hill and stopped by gravity, brakes, or — as a last resort — safety hay bales.
