Why earn a master of science in nursing leadership and administration from TXST?

The shortage of well-prepared nurse leaders in Texas has made the master of science in nursing leadership and administration degree an exceptional program for bachelor’s prepared Registered Nurses who want to advance their nursing roles. Offered as a part-time program to provide a work-school-life balance, students will learn how to effectively translate innovative practice models and expertly direct the delivery of healthcare across organizational models. Graduates with this degree frequently find roles in managerial and leadership positions, including Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, or Nursing Manager.

Following the completion of the MSN-LAN program, graduates are eligible to apply to take the following national certification examinations:

  • American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) Certification Exam - Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) or Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML)
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certification Exam - Nurse Executive (NE-BC) or Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC)
