The field of public relations is expanding with the growth of digital media. To meet industry needs, Texas State University offers a bachelor of science in public relations and mass communication with a sports media concentration. Public relations majors learn how to research, write, plan, build, and evaluate innovative methods to create connections through strategic communications.
Students will also have access to the school’s internship coordinator, who will guide them toward internship opportunities with media outlets, agencies, and other organizations. The internship coordinator maintains critical relationships with employers so students can earn practical experience they can apply in the workforce when starting their careers. These internship opportunities also provide students with the ability to network with professionals and peers.
