Function:
Reviews inventions and discoveries by university faculty and staff employees and makes recommendations to the President regarding the university's ownership interest in patents and exploiting of ownership interests in patentable products. Committee meets monthly during long semesters, however, if there are no invention disclosures to discuss, meetings will be cancelled. If a recommendation from the committee is needed between meetings, it is handled via e-mail. There is no term limit for committee members.
