  • How to make an appointment

    • To take an ACTFL-OPI, please email TEMC at proctor@txstate.edu. In your initial email, please provide your name, student ID (if a Texas State student*), the language in which you would like to test, and two preferred testing dates. ACTFL requires that the dates be at least two weeks in advance from the date you submit the registration.

ACTFL also requires a 3-hour window for each of the selected dates, as part of your application to test. ACTFL-OPI testing is available in TEMC: Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Given these time windows, select at least two preferred dates (two weeks in advance) to include in your initial email. TEMC will contact each candidate to inform them if the selected dates are available, or if necessary, to help select alternate dates. When the candidate and TEMC have agreed upon the dates, TEMC will provide further instructions for applying to LTI to take the test.

*If you are not a Texas State student, but need to take the ACTFL-OPI for a different purpose, please inform us of that in your initial email.

    • For an appointment at our Testing Center in Round Rock, please email rrc-testing@txstate.edu. Please include in your appointment request: your name, phone number, language to test, and two preferred testing dates.

Testing must begin and end during 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day we are open. For when we are open at the Testing Center, Round Rock, please visit our Operating Hours page.

You must select two preferred testing dates at least 2 weeks into the future from the date of your appointment request so that we may match your appointment request with the appropriate evaluator for the exam.

You will be contacted with further instructions and payment options.
