Texas College Bridge FAQ

Does TXST accept Texas College Bridge?

Yes, TXST is now accepting Texas College Bridge effective for incoming students beginning the fall semester of 2025. Certificates for English Language Arts and/or Math provide a TSI waiver that is valid for two years from the date of high school graduation.

How will TXST apply my certificate(s)?

A student must enroll and successfully pass the college-level Reading/Writing and/or Math courses during the first year of enrollment at TXST or the waiver will no longer be valid. Therefore, students beginning in the fall or summer must complete and pass the course by the end of the spring semester and students beginning in the spring must complete and pass the course by the end of the following fall semester.

*Note that a passing grade is considered a ā€œCā€ or higher.*

Which college-level courses do I need to pass in my first year to become fully TSI exempted?

Math:
Math 1312, 1315, 1316, 1317, 1319, 1329, 2321, 2328, 2417, or 2471

Reading/Writing:
English 1310, 1320, 2310, 2320, 2330, 2340, 2359, 2360, or 2371
History 1310, 1320, 2327, 2328, 2381, or 2382
Political Science 2310 or 2320
Psychology 1300

How do I submit documentation?

Please send your Texas College Bridge Certificate(s) to the TSI office by email at tsioffice@txstate.edu. Please make sure to include your student ID (A-ID number) in your email. If you have any questions, please call the TSI office at 512.245.3942.
