  • $500 scholarship available to full-time students at Texas State University.

    The recipient(s) of the annual Nina Vaca-Humrichouse Scholarship is chosen from Latina students that:

    • are enrolled full time at Texas State University, taking a minimum of 12 hours per semester
    • have a minimum overall 2.5 GPA
    • exhibit leadership and commitment to public service
    • complete the following application including a 1 to 1 1/2  page response to the following essay question: Speak to what exhibiting leadership, committing to public service, and having a desire to make a difference in the community mean to you.
    • Minority students specializing in multicultural studies with an emphasis on Latina/o recruitment and retention.

  • $1000 scholarship available to males enrolled full time at Texas State University. Selection Criteria:

    • full-time student enrolled at Texas State University taking a minimum of 12 hours per semester with a GPA of at least 2.75
    • preference for African American male student(s) exhibiting leadership, commitment to public service and a desire to make a difference in his community

    Applicant must respond to the following essay question: In approximately 2 pages, speak to what exhibiting leadership, committing to public service, and having a desire to make a difference in the community mean to you.
