Texas CPM Conference and William P. Hobby Distinguished Lecture
The William P. Hobby Center sponsors the Annual Texas Certified Public Manager (CPM) Conference for graduates, students, directors and distinguished public leaders. This day long conference generally includes plenary sessions on current topics, networking luncheon and the William P. Hobby Distinguished Lecture delivered by an accomplished, local, state or national public leader. Past honorees have included Dr. Howard Prince (Clinical Professor and Director at the Center for Ethical Leadership at the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs), the Honorable Bill White (3-term mayor of Houston, Texas), Retired US Army General Montgomery Meigs (Commander, U.S. Army Europe & NATO's peacekeeping force in Bosnia), F. Scott McCown (Executive Director of the Texas Center for Public Policy Priorities) and Dustin Haisler (Chief Innovation Officer for e-Republic). CPM Alumni in the CPM database will receive an invitation to all events which are often free.
The Journal of Certified Public Manager Applied Research (CPMAR)
Partner university, Stephen F. Austin State University, established and publishes The journal of Certified Public Manager Applied Research (CPMAR). This is a scholarly publication of the best papers produced by graduates of the Texas CPM program through its Track 7 Applied Project Practicum. Only graduates from the Texas CPM program are eligible to publish their papers with approval from the Editor-in-Chief, Rick Herzog.
