CSSW Editorial Fellowship
The Center for the Study of the Southwest (CSSW), employs a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) who serves as Editorial Fellow at the Center. The position is renewable for one year based on evaluation of the first year’s work. The Editorial Fellow assists the CSSW staff in production of Texas Books in Review (TBR) and Southwestern American Literature (SAL). Related duties include text and graphics layout and copyediting on all journals, and book review support and mail-out supervision on TBR and SAL, with other duties as assigned. The fellow also carries out one personal research project on a self-chosen topic related to the region.
The position is open to anyone working on a graduate degree at Texas State who has strong writing and editing skills and an interest in the Southwest. Applicants must not currently hold any other position on campus (IA, GA, GRA, etc.). Additionally, any applicants who have previously received the Graduate College's "one-time enrollment" exemption will not be eligible. Preference is given to candidates who also have experience working in InDesign and Photoshop.
The Fellowship consists of an GRA position (nine-month appointment) plus a tuition scholarship of $1,500 per semester and some support for research and conference travel. For details on working as a Graduate Assistant at Texas State University visit the Graduate College website.
