Research Advances

Research cash advances are designed to provide Principal Investigators (PIs) who have funded research projects or scholarly creative activities the flexibility to expend funds for off-campus activities for which it is impossible or impractical to use the normal procurement, payroll, or reimbursement processes.

Advances are approved at the discretion of the Office of the Associate Vice President for Research. Depending on the project or funding source, additional departmental approvals or sponsored program reviews may be required.

Forms

Please be sure to complete request forms with sufficient advance notice for payment processing and complete your corresponding reconciliation form in a timely manner. Faculty members with outstanding advances will not be permitted to receive additional funds.
