History Club
The History Club is a student organization open to all Bobcats. We seek to provide an enjoyable, stimulating space for all who share an interest in history. We have no requirements for members’ majors, years, or GPA, and are open to anyone who wishes to join.
Our events occur every three weeks and include game nights, presentations, and discussions. If you are interested in joining the club or attending an event, check our social media pages, look for our posters around campus, or email us.
The History Club also collaborates with the Phi Alpha Theta National Honors society. Check out the PAT website for membership and event information.

Thomas Alter is a historian of the United States and Texas who specializes in transnational approaches to race, labor, capitalism, and protest movements.
His book, Toward a Cooperative Commonwealth: The Transplanted Roots of Farmer-Labor Radicalism in Texas (University of Illinois Press, 2022) uses three generations of a German-Texan family to explore the evolution and continuity of agrarian radicalism in the US and transnational influences on this tradition from the 1848 German Revolution, the Mexican Revolution, Irish republicanism, and the Bolshevik Revolution.
The History Club expresses its appreciation to the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Texas State Parents Association for their vital assistance in funding club activities.
