Open Calls
There are no current open calls for submissions. If you want to submit work still, please enter your personal information. If you have any questions, send us an email. Otherwise, you may return to the Call for Entries page.
Artists may submit completed, gallery-ready works in person:
- By appointment at the gallery (Lampasas 407 on the Texas State campus)
Submission Guidelines
You may submit 3-5 works. There is no entry fee. Each work MUST be accompanied by a statement to be considered.
Each Artist Statement should shed light on how you express specific emotions through the aesthetic elements of the portrait. Statements could include details such as the meanings of symbols, tones, hues, textures or forms used in the composition. You might also discuss the pose, expression, dress or background story of your subject. Statements don’t need to be long but they should explain to a general audience why you made certain artistic choices to express certain emotional or psychological states.
For additional details, please refer to the Call for Entries.
TERMS OF ENTRY
I affirm that the work I am submitting is my own; in the case of collaborative work, I have clearly identified my collaborators in the "Media Used" or "Explanatory Statement" sections. I understand that, if selected, it is my responsibility to ship/deliver my work on time to The 407 Gallery and to pay for return shipping or pick up my work at the conclusion of the exhibition. Work must also be gallery-ready, especially regarding hanging pieces. I give my consent for images of my work to be used online and in print for documentation and promotion of the exhibition and The 407 Gallery.
Please remember to fill out and submit the CE Gallery Release Form when dropping off artwork.
Artwork submitted without the signed Release Form will not be accepted or included in the exhibition.
