Why Should I Apply to the Honors College?
The Honors College provides a special living and learning experience that is both demanding and lively for students of all majors at TXST. Students who join the Honors College take small, interdisciplinary, seminar-style classes where they discuss ideas and raise questions stimulated by readings, field trips, and campus research. Participation in the Honors College offers students a chance to collaborate with other energetic minds while enjoying a variety of extraordinary learning opportunities, including unique course topics and cross-cultural experiences.
All Honors students have the opportunity to engage directly with a TXST faculty member of their choice on a Capstone proposal, which typically culminates in the production and presentation of a creative or research project. Students who successfully complete all Honors requirements, including their Capstone component, receive the coveted Honors designation on their transcript, along with a personalized certificate of completion and a crystal medallion commemorating their time with the Honors College.
Where Do I Apply?
All Honors applicants submit their materials through the same application portal.
Application Process:
Each application is reviewed holistically, twice, and every applicant is notified of their admissions decision via email and snail mail, via the contact information provided on the application.
The Honors College receives a high volume of applications; anticipate receiving notification of an admission decision within 2-3 weeks of applying.
Applicants can check their application status by logging into the Honors College application system.
Once admitted, students will receive access to enroll in Honors courses and receive important information regarding Honors events, upcoming initiatives and academic opportunities, and programmatic deadlines via your TXST email address.
Application Deadline Information:
The Honors College accepts applications on a rolling basis, which means that there is no formal deadline to apply for admission to the College. However, students are encouraged to make note of the following information:

Incoming freshmen who wish to take part in pre-registration are required to participate in the New Student Orientation process, which occurs each summer for new TXST students.
- Incoming freshmen admitted after March 1 will be able to register for Honors courses during New Student Orientation.
- Incoming transfer students are eligible to receive early registration benefits within one semester at TXST.
- Current TXST students must apply and be admitted to the Honors College by 5 p.m. on September 1 or February 1 of each term, respectively, in order to ensure their early registration benefits.
