What is an International Ambassador at TXST?
An International Ambassador is a volunteer who represents Texas State University on a global scale, helping to promote the university’s values, programs, and initiatives to prospective students.

Who can become an International Ambassador?
Any current student at Texas State University who has above a 2.5 GPA, in academic good standing, and has a passion for supporting others. We encourage students from all backgrounds, countries, and academic disciplines to apply!

Is there a specific time commitment required?
The time commitment varies depending on the events and activities throughout the year. However, you can expect to dedicate a few hours per month to attend meetings, participate in training, and engage in ambassador duties in which would be dependent on review of your class schedule.

Will I receive any compensation or benefits?
While this is a volunteer position, International Ambassadors may receive exclusive benefits such as networking opportunities and recognition for their contributions.

How long is the term for an International Ambassador?

Is the position an in-person position?
At this time, the International Ambassador position is remote. But mandatory involvement in the International Student Orientation is in-person.

Will volunteering for this position interfere with my immigration status if I am also working part time?
Since the position does not require a work authorization, students can participate in this volunteer program without it affecting their immigration status.
