Commencement Invitation to the Class of 2020
Class of 2020, if your commencement was virtual, postponed, or you did not feel comfortable attending due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we invite you to return and participate in your college's commencement this fall.
Fall 2024 Commencement will be held on Friday and Saturday, December 13 and 14, 2024, with three ceremonies each day. The full commencement schedule is available on the schedule page.

I will be attending. What do I need to know about the ceremony?

Am I required to wear the new branded Texas State regalia?
Graduates now wear Texas State branded regalia with the university's logo and maroon accents.
You are encouraged to purchase the branded regalia in order to match the current graduates and take part in this new tradition! However, the Class of 2020 is permitted to wear all black regalia if they already purchased it back in 2020.

How many guests can I invite to commencement?
Approved Class of 2020 commencement registrants may download guest tickets. The exact number of tickets will be determined after October 25.
In November, approved registrants will receive an email with a link to download their allotted tickets.

Will my name appear in the Commencement Program booklet?
Class of 2020 graduates will answer a question on the registration form to give permission for their name to appear in the commencement program.
Printed copies will be available at the ceremony in addition to an online PDF version.

I graduated in 2020. How do I register for 2024 commencement?
The deadline to register for commencement was Friday, October 25. If you have any questions, please contact us at commencement@txstate.edu.

I don't remember my student ID number (A#). What should I do?
You must know your student ID number (A#) in order to complete the registration form. If you do not remember your A#, please complete the Student ID Number Retrieval Request form and upload a copy of your government-issued photo ID. You will receive a response within 5-7 business days.

Why is Texas State inviting the Class of 2020 to participate in commencement?
We understand that some graduates were not able to attend the make up ceremonies held for graduates in Fall of 2020.

I am a 2020 graduate but I cannot attend this fall. Are there other options?
Unfortunately, no, this opportunity is only available for Fall 2024 Commencement.

I graduated in a year other than 2020, am I able to participate?
Unfortunately, no, this offer is only extended to the Class of 2020 as commencement ceremonies in that year were postponed or canceled.
