The Consortium of Southwest Centers is a composed of a wide variety of institutions with a Southwest regional focus. Although they define the “Southwest” in slightly different ways, all of the institutions emphasize the transborder and multicultural nature of the region. The member institutions vary in their areas of interest, some emphasize undergraduate or graduate education, others focus on publication and research, and still others are broad programmatic agendas.
