Admission Requirements

Incoming freshmen must already be admitted to TXST in order to apply for admission to the Honors College. They usually meet or exceed at least one of the following criteria:

1. Outstanding talent in an area of interest
2. Top 10% of high school graduating class
3. ACT Composite Score: 27
4. SAT Score: 1270 (Math + Verbal)
5. Completion of an AP Capstone Program

Currently enrolled TXST students should have a GPA of 3.25 or greater, for either their TXST or overall GPA.

A student must transfer with 12 or more hours of recognized college credit in order to qualify as a transfer student to TXST. Transfer students wishing to apply to the Honors College usually have an incoming GPA of at least 3.25.

Transfer students who are already a member of an Honors program at a college listed below, and who have a GPA of 3.25 or higher, can request automatic admission to the TXST Honors College. To qualify for automatic admission, the student should complete the standard TXST Honors College admission application and ask their current Honors program director to email honors@txstate.edu to verify that the student is a member in good standing.
