BOSS Scholarships
All of our scholarships can be applied for through the Bobcat Online Scholarship System (BOSS). Visit their website to search and apply.

Camp Scholarship
Depending on funding availability, one Jim and Elizabeth Camp Scholarship is awarded annually for $2,000. Students must reapply each year and maintain the requirements of the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Available to students majoring in English or Physics OR who are active members of the Honors College.
- Applicants must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.3 or above.
- Applicants must have a Junior/Senior standing (60 credit hours) and be enrolled full-time.
Application Requirements
- Completion of online application
- Two letters of recommendation. Please note that letters from high school teachers and counselors are strongly discouraged as letters should reflect your work in college.
Selection Process
- The scholarship committee will select the most qualified applicants.
Selection Criteria
- Applicants will be evaluated on:
- Their past academic achievement, as evidenced by their GPA and letters of recommendation.
- Their active participation in Honors College.
- Their future academic promise (as evidenced in letters of recommendation).

Craddock Scholarship
The Emma Craddock Scholarship awards $1,500 annually in honor of Dr. Emmie Craddock. The number of scholarships awarded will depend on funding availability. These scholarship awards are made for the academic year and must be disbursed on a semester basis (half paid in fall, half paid in spring).
Eligibility Criteria
- Awarded to transfer and continuing (currently enrolled) students.
- Applicants must be enrolled at Texas State with a major in Chemistry, English, History or Physics, OR be an active member of the Honors College.
- Continuing (currently enrolled) or transfer students who meet the criteria above must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
- Recipients are required to maintain an overall and semester grade point average of 3.5 or above.
- Applicants must reapply each year and meet all eligibility requirements.
- Applicants must enroll in at least 15 hours per semester.

FitzPatrick Endowed Scholarship
The Merry Kone FitzPatrick Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually in honor of Professor Merry Kone FitzPatrick. The number of awards given will depend on funding availability. Awards range from $1,000 - $5,000 per year. These scholarship awards are made for the academic year and must be disbursed on a semester basis (half paid in fall, half paid in spring). U.S. Citizenship not required.
Eligibility Criteria
- Awarded to currently enrolled undergraduates who are active members of Alpha Lambda Delta or active members of the Honors College.
- Applicants must demonstrate academic strength and engagement in the community.
- Applicants must maintain a semester grade point average of at least 3.50.
- Applicants must enroll in at least 12 hours per semester.
- Applicants must demonstrate participation in Alpha Lambda Delta and must have paid the Alpha Lambda Delta initiation and lifetime membership fee.
- Applicants must reapply each year and meet all eligibility requirements.
- Applicants are expected to acknowledge their award with a thank you letter to members of the FitzPatrick family.

Gregg Presidential Endowed Scholarship
The Stephen R. Gregg Presidential Endowed Scholarships are awarded once per academic year for an amount between $2,500 and $5,500. This amount is dependent on funding availability. The award amount is made available for the academic year with disbursement given on a semester basis (half paid in fall, half paid in spring).
Eligibility Criteria
- Awarded to currently enrolled students who have been accepted into the Honors College.
- Applicants must demonstrate academic strength and engagement in the honors community and maintain a semester grade point average of at least 3.25.
- Applicants must enroll in at least 12 hours per semester.
- Applicants must reapply each year and meet all eligibility guidelines.
- Applicants are expected to acknowledge their award with a thank you letter to Mr. Gregg.

Twelve to eighteen Honors College Scholarships are awarded annually for $1,000.

Honors College Travel Stipend
The Honors College encourages students to travel and present at conferences. Active Honors College students may request travel funds from the Honors College with the following conditions:
- Must be an active member of the Honors College
- Must be in good standing with the Honors College
- Must have a paper or poster accepted to a conference
- Must seek additional funding from academic major department, academic major college, and Student Government
The Honors College may contribute $100 - $250 for travel. To request funds, please submit this form. Please submit this request as early as possible, preferably at least three weeks before travel.

Liberal Arts Travel Request
Eligibility requirements:
- meet all Texas State travel regulations;
- have an accepted conference paper, poster, professional presentation or performance/exhibit;
- be enrolled in a graduate degree program;
- be in good academic standing during the semester the conference is held.

Rising Star Travel Grant
The Rising Scholarly Travel Activity and Research (S.T.A.R.) Grant program has been established by the Student Government to promote and enhance the efforts undertaken by the department and colleges to send students to programs, conferences, and activities of a scholarly nature.
Criteria for award:
- Must be used for travel associated with scholarly research or creative activity, both domestic and international.
- Must be attended by Texas State students, preferences will be given to conferences attended by Texas State students where the students are presenting for said activity.
- Cannot be used to pay for the cost of faculty, staff, or other university employees, excluding student workers.
- Application must have support from a faculty member of the sponsoring college or department.
- Must have matching funds from the sponsoring college or department.

Stelos Scholars
The Stelos Scholars is an interdisciplinary cohort program for community-minded and intellectually gifted young leaders selected from among the university’s top-level scholarship recipients. Through personal involvement and mentorship from Texas State faculty and accomplished alumni and community leaders, each Stelos Scholar develops the knowledge and skills to reach their potential and become a leader of consequence.
Although the Stelos Scholars does not have a direct monetary award, the program has incredible opportunities—all of which are offered without cost to students. These opportunities include:
- Summer workshop
- Cohort events throughout the school year (resume review, overnight camping)
- Domestic group travel (e.g., New York, Washington, etc)
Applications are open in January of each year, and new Stelos Scholars are required to attend the full workshop in May/June.

Undergraduate Research Fellowship
Undergraduate Research Fellowships (URF) support undergraduate research and creative projects at Texas State University. Every semester the URF committee awards between 10 and 12 competitive scholarships of up to $1000 to students seeking funding for their projects. Fellowships are awarded for projects such as Honors theses and independent studies as well as for Capstone projects or for original work done under the umbrella of faculty-directed research. Undergraduates of all majors are eligible. Membership in the Honors College is not required to apply.
This program is supported by contributions from the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Division of Research, private foundations, and colleges within the university (see more details below).
