2023 H-E-B Tournament of Champions supports Mathworks' JSMCH
February 1, 2023
The H-E-B Tournament of Champions has awarded a $16,000 grant to support the 2023 Mathworks half-day Junior Summer Math Camp. This grant will provide scholarships to students with financial need, ensuring all students can attend the Mathworks’ camp regardless of their financial situation.
The half-day Junior Summer Math Camp (JSMCH) is a two-week multi-level commuter program for students in grades 3-8. The camp provides opportunities for students to develop their critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities by encouraging a fun and interactive learning environment, taught by in-service Master Teachers. The JSMCH also provides opportunities for Teacher Professional Development by partnering with experienced teachers, graduate students, and undergraduate students to create a unique learning environment that encourages students to explore problems deeply, allowing Mathworks to improve the learning environment apart from camp.
