Mathworks HSMC student receives "Second Award" at Intel ISEF
San Marcos, TX - May 14, 2010
Mathworks Honors Summer Math Camp (HSMC) student Max Wimberley received a Second Award in the Mathematical Sciences category of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), held May 9-14. The award includes a $1,500 scholarship. Max, an Austin student, has attended the Mathworks summer math camps since middle school, beginning with the Junior Summer Math Camp.
Max worked on his project with Millie Shi (of Sugar Land, TX) during their time at the 2009 HSMC. Their project, "Creating and Deducing Structure using Domination Numbers in Permutation Graphs," was mentored by Dr. Weizhen Gu of the Texas State University math department.
