This checklist is for advising purposes for BGS students only.
Consult your undergraduate catalog or official degree audit for degree requirements.
- Twelve advanced hours in the minor coursework are required for the BGS.
- A 2.25 cumulative GPA must be maintained in all minor courses.
- No grade lower than a “C” will be accepted as credit for BGS minors.
- Course rotation indications are intended to be used for planning purposes and do not guarantee course availability. "F" indicates "fall," "S" indicates "spring," and "Su" indicates "summer" availability.
Group I – Select 9 hours from the following:
- _____ PSY 3313 - Psychology of Adulthood and Aging (F, S, SU) (Prerequisite: PSY 1300 with a grade of "C" or better.)
- _____ SOCI 3329 - Life Course Sociology
- _____ SOCI 3383 – Aging and Society (F, S, SU)
- _____ SOWK 4320 - Social Work with Older Adults
Group II – Select 9 hours from the following:
- _____ PSY 3361 (WI) - Health Psychology (Prerequisite: PSY 1300 with a grade of "C" or better.)*
- _____ SOCI 3327 - Sociology of Racial and Ethnic Relations(F, S, SU)
- _____ SOCI 3337 - The Family
- _____ SOCI 3338 – Family Problems (F, S)
- _____ SOCI 3358 – Work and Society
- _____ SOCI 3384 - The Sociology of Death & Dying (F, S)
- _____ SOCI 3395 – Sociology of Sexuality (F, S, SU)
Note: The following courses may be taken in Group II if not taken in Group I.
