Arevalo, Isaac

Drame, Kany
Kany Drame is an alumni of the International Studies Master's program (2023). She previously served in Colombia in the Education sector from 2019 and was evacuated in 2020 due to COVID. Students can contact Kany about her experience at internationalstudies@txstate.edu

Goodson, Courtney
Courtney Goodson served in the Community Economic Development Sector in Fiji as a Business Advisor. She works at Texas State University as a Grant Specialist in the Small Business Development Center and majored in Marketing.

Lowman, Dr. Helen
Dr. Helen Lowman served in the Education sector in Thailand from 1988-1991. She has served as Peace Corps Staff in other capacities for a combined 9 years. Dr. Lowman is currently a lecturer in the Department of Political Science.

Roberts, Shular
Shular served in the Education sector in Guyana from 2019-2020. He graduated from Texas State in 2017 with a major in Geography (Environmental Resource Studies) and a minor in Anthropology. Shular currently works at Texas State as a Grounds Maintenance Worker, protecting our unique environment and keeping our campus beautiful.

Story, Dr. Bascom
Dr. Bascom Story was among the first Peace Corps Staff to Ethiopia. Prior to serving in Ethiopia, Story got the degree in 1942 from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State at San Marcos). He returned to the University of Texas, obtained his Ph.D. in education and psychology in 1949 with a dissertation on the history of junior colleges in the U.S. He went to work as an associate professor at the University of Tennessee. He was promoted to full professor in 1947. Four years later, he was named Dean of the Graduate School at Memphis State University, a job he held until 1958 when he was sent to Ethiopia as chief educational adviser under the Point Four program.
