About SADOC
The Social Awareness Documentary Film Club aims to bring documentary films to the Texas State University and San Marcos, Texas communities that raise important questions about social justice. This registered student organization hopes that through screenings and discussions, students, faculty, staff, and members of the larger community will be inspired to work together to make the world a safer, happier, more just place. For more information, contact Joy Smith or Dr. Jon Lasser.
NEW: SADOC is now partnering with Keep San Marcos Beautiful by adopting Rio Vista Park. SADOC members will volunteer to clean the park at least 4 times/year.
SADOC President Max Anderson: Max is a senior at Texas State University and is double-majoring in Electronic Media and Political Science. He has been president of SADOC for two years. He has had a passion in documentaries for several years. Some of his favorite documentaries are H2Oil, Better this World, Farenheit 9/11, Cultures of Resistance, and many more. Max is working on his first documentary film about grassroots resistance in Texas against the southern leg of the Keystone XL pipeline.
